There are several ways to change your domain's contact information. Follow the steps provided below to make these changes. If you encounter any issues please contact our support department for assistance.
Creating a new contact:
Step 1.
Login to your Rebel account and click Contact Manager.
Step 2.
Click Add New Contact. Complete the fields provided* then click Save. A verification email will be sent to your contact, simply click the link in the email to ensure your contact has been verified.
Setting the new contact to your domain:
Step 1.
In your Rebel account click Domain Manager.
Step 2.
Click on your domain name to access the edit page then scroll down until you find Domain Contacts.
Step 3.
Under the contact you wish to change click Change Contact then click on the box that contains the new contact you have just created (it may be listed in red if it is unverified).
Step 4.
If you only intend to change the one contact you can click Save Changes at the bottom of the page. Alternatively, if you wish to set all domain contacts to the same contact you have just created click Set All under the contact then click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
Modifying an existing contact:
Step 1.
Login to your Rebel account and click Contact Manager.
Step 2.
Click Select Contact then click on the box that contains the contact information you want to change.
Step 3.
Update your contact information then click Save at the bottom of the page. Please be sure to add the street number, name and type in their designated boxes. You will not be able to change the First or Last name of a contact, if you wish to edit this information you must create a new contact. See instructions above.
Setting an existing contact to your domain:
Step 1.
In your Rebel account click Domain Manager.
Step 2.
Click on your domain name to access the edit page then scroll down until you find Domain Contacts.
Step 3.
Under the contact you wish to change click Change Contact then click on the box that contains the contact you have just edited (it may be listed in red if it is unverified).
Step 4.
If you only intend to change the one contact you can click Save Changes at the bottom of the page. Alternatively, if you wish to set all domain contacts to the same contact you have just created click Set All under the contact then click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
* If you are changing the Owner/Registrant contact for a .CA domain you must ensure that you have a Canadian Presence Requirement as directed by the Canadian Internet Registration Authority. Below your new contact you will see the option to Add CIRA Registrant Information. Click on this button and select whether you are registerring your domain as a Canadian Citizen, Corporation or other. Check the box next to I have read and agree to the terms and conditions of the Registrant Agreement then click Save.
Please note: When making changes to the Owner/Registrant contact for a .CA domain, the domain will be locked for a duration of 7 days. During this time only you will not be able to update the Owner/Registrant contact for that domain nor will it be eligible for transfer.
Ownership Protection:
If you are unable to edit the Owner/Registrant contact for your domain it is possible that you have our Ownership Protection services enabled. Click here for instructions on how to remove this service temporarily from your domain.
