What is parking my domain?
Domain parking means registering a domain name without linking it to a website or email service. When you register a new domain with Rebel, it will automatically park on our nameservers (unless you’ve set different defaults in your Portfolio), and a standard parking page will appear to show that the domain is active and registered.
While your domain is parked, you still have full control of its DNS settings. This means you can update records at any time to point the domain to a specific website, connect email services, or set up other features whenever you’re ready.
To park your domain on our nameservers, please follow these steps:
Step 1.
Log in to your Rebel account, then select "Products" in the top-left corner. In the top toolbar, you will see "Domains”. Please select this.
Step 2.
For the domain you want to update, select "Manage" on the right-hand side.
Step 3.
On the domain editing page, select the "DNS" tab in the upper left.
Step 4.
In the drop-down beneath Domain Nameserver Information, select "Park with Rebel (Default)".
Step 5.
Click "Save Changes" in this section.
After these changes are saved, it can take 24-48 hours for them to load publicly; however, we usually see them load within 6-11 hours.
| Note: By changing your nameservers to park with Rebel you may be disrupting any current DNS information, which could result in your website and/or email ceasing to function. Before making these changes please ensure that you no longer require your current DNS information. |
