Registry nameserver records are used to point the nameservers for your domain name to a specific IP address; you are advising the registry to direct the traffic for your nameserver to its designated IP address. To create registry nameserver records please follow these steps:
Step 1.
Log in to your Rebel account, then select "Products" in the top-left corner. In the top toolbar, you will see āDomainsā. Please select this.
Step 2.
For the domain that you would like to update the registry nameservers, please select "Manage" on the right-hand side.
Step 3.
On the domain editing page, select the "DNS" tab.
Step 4.
Scroll down to Registry Nameserver Records and click "Add Nameserver" in the bottom left.
Step 5.
You will be required to enter a prefix, such as DNS or NS. The second part of the record, the DNS suffix, will default to your root domain name (for example, "dns.rebelexample.com" or "ns1.rebelexample.com"). You will need to enter an IP address for your nameserver, in either IPv4 or IPv6 format.
Repeat this for your second record, using a second prefix (such as "dns2.rebelexample.com" or "ns2.rebelexample.com"). You will need to enter an IP address for your nameserver, in either IPv4 or IPv6 format.
| Note: .CA domains require two nameservers with unique IP addresses; for most other domains you can use the same IP for both nameservers. |
Step 6.
Click "Save Changes" in the bottom right once all of your information is inputted
After updating the Registry Nameserver Records, it can take 24-48 hours before you see your site resolving. In most cases we see it only takes 6-12 hours.
