To configure Microsoft Exchange with your domain, please follow these steps:
Step 1.
Log in to your Rebel account, select "Products" in the top left corner. In the top toolbar you will see "Domains". Please select this.
Step 2.
For the domain you’d like to access DNS settings for, select “Manage” on the right-hand side.
Step 3.
In the upper left side, you will see the two words "Contacts", "DNS" and "Domain Options". Select the "DNS" tab.
Step 4.
Scroll down to "Manage Advanced DNS Records" and click on "Advanced DNS Manager" on the right-hand side.
If this section is not available, your domain may be set to Use Third Party Hosting with another provider's DNS. If this is the case, you will need to either make these changes in your DNS provider's account or park your domain on Rebel nameservers.
| Note: By changing your nameservers to park with Rebel, you may be disrupting any current DNS information, which could result in your website and/or email ceasing to function. Before making these changes, please ensure that you no longer require your current DNS information. |
Side Step:
To park your domain on Rebel DNS, please go to Domain Nameserver Information and from the dropdown menu choose "Park with Rebel (Default)".
Click "Save Changes" in this section.
Then you will be able to scroll down and find your Advanced DNS Settings by selecting the button.
Step 5.
To add an A record, click the button showing "Add Record" in the upper right.
Step 6.
Click the drop-down and set the Record Type to "TXT".
Step 7.
Enter the required details from Microsoft for the DNS record in the “Host” and “Points to” fields.
Host: Enter the subdomain or record name (for example, @ for the root domain or www for a www record).
Points to: Enter the destination value provided by your hosting or email provider.
The TTL field can be left as the default if no information is provided.
Once all required information has been entered, select “Add Record” to save the DNS record.
Once your TXT record propagates, you will be able to configure the remaining settings within Microsoft.
When editing your advanced DNS the propagation time will be approximately 1-2 hours unless you are switching the Nameserver Information from Use Third Party Hosting to our nameservers, in which case the propagation time can be approximately 24-48 hours.
| Note: If your domain is currently configured to use a third party hosting provider by pointing to their nameservers you will not have access to the advanced DNS to make these changes. The Advanced DNS is only accessible if your domain is either parked, forwarding or hosted with Rebel. |
