If you’d like to move a domain from one Rebel account to another, the process is quick, easy, and free! Simply follow the steps below:
Step 1.
Please ensure you have the username for the account to which you are moving the domain. This will be necessary in moving it to the appropriate account.
Step 2.
Log into your Rebel account, select "Products" on the left hand side. Then in the top tool bar, you are able to select "Domains".
Step 3.
Check the box to the left of the domain name(s) you are wanting to move, and in the upper right you will be able to select the "Move" button.
Step 4.
After selecting “Move”, a pop-up will appear asking for the username of the account you’d like to move your domain to. Enter the username in the provided field to continue.
Step 5.
After entering the username, the account should appear with its details displayed next to it. Please confirm that this is the correct account and select the checkbox. Once checked, select “Confirm” to finalize the move to the new account.
Step 6.
Once confirmed, you’ll see a message verifying that the domain was moved successfully. The domain will then be active in the new account.

Once confirmed, your domain will be moved right away. All of the domain’s current contact information and DNS settings will transfer with it.
Important: If the sending and receiving accounts share the same email or username, you’ll need to update the username of the receiving account before attempting the move. Otherwise, you may see an error message that says: “The current customer and selected customer are identical.”
| Note: If your domain has a subscriptions or services: either Classic Hosting, Simple Email Privacy or Ownership Protection, it cannot be moved until those subscriptions or services are temporarily cancelled. You can turn off Privacy Protection in your Domain Manager, and you can suspend your hosting packages in your Hosting Manager. These services can be re-activated as soon as the domain has been moved into the new account, including any hosting packages cancelled with 'end of term deletion'. As long as the new account administrator activates hosting before the end of term, there will be no service interruption to the website or e-mail. If you have Plesk hosting, please let our Customer Service Team assist you with the migration of your hosting package from one Rebel account to another. If you have a Weebly hosting package, it isn't possible to move that package along with the domain from one account to another. |
