Unlike some registries, EURid (the .EU registry) does not offer a standard renewal grace period at the regular renewal rate after a domain expires.
If your .EU domain is not renewed before its expiration date, it will be placed into a 40-day quarantine (redemption) period by the registry. During this time, the domain is no longer active but can still be recovered.
To restore the domain during the quarantine period, a recovery fee is required, and the request must be processed manually by our customer service team.
If the domain is not recovered within the 40-day quarantine period, it will be deleted and made available for public registration.
