What is the purpose of Cloud email Filtering rules?
Cloud email offers a plethora of features that allow you to customize your email. Through the Rule option, you can set conditions and actions for the emails you send and receive.
Step 1
Log in to your webmail at mail.rebel.ca. In the fields, input your email address and corresponding password.
Step 2
Click on the settings icon located on the top right, then click on 'All Settings.'
Step 3
In the left-hand menu, select "Mail". After scrolling down, you will see the option of "Rules". Please select the arrow to drop down more information.
Step 4
Within your email settings, you’ll see three key options: Auto Forward, Vacation Notice, and Add a New Rule. Each option allows you to manage how your incoming mail is handled:
Auto Forward:
The Auto Forward feature lets you automatically forward all emails sent to your account to another email address of your choice.
Turn on forwarding by toggling the switch in the top-left corner.
Enter the email address (or addresses) you’d like messages forwarded to.
Choose whether to keep a copy of forwarded messages in your inbox by checking or unchecking the box.
Click "Apply Changes" to save.
Vacation Notice:
The Vacation Notice feature allows you to set up an automatic reply when you’re away from your inbox.
Toggle the switch in the top-left corner to enable it.
Select the dates you’ll be away.
Enter your preferred subject line and message to be sent as the auto-reply.
Make sure to select “Send vacation notice during this time only.”
Click "Apply Changes" when you’re done.
Add a new rule:
Rules give you more control over how your mail is managed. With them, you can create specific conditions and actions for incoming emails.
Start by giving your rule a name.
(Optional) Add a condition—for example, who the email is from, when it was sent, or other details.
Click "Add Action" to select what should happen when those conditions are met.
Enter any required details, like a folder name or forwarding address, for the specific action.
When finished, click "Save and Apply" (bottom left), then "Save" (bottom right).
Note: Auto Forward and Redirect (within Rules) are slightly different. Auto Forward applies to all emails sent to your address. Redirect within Rules allows you to be more specific, applying filters such as the sender, date, or other conditions.
