If you are unable to edit or update the technical contact directly on a domain name, creating a new domain contact profile in your Contact Manager and assigning it to the domain offers a simple solution.
Self-Service Troubleshooting Steps
To resolve issues updating your domain's technical contact, follow this two-step process to create a new contact profile and assign it to your domain.
Step 1: Create a New Domain Contact
Log in to your account.
Click Products in the navigation menu.
Select Domain Contacts from the top menu.
Click Add Contact.
Enter the new contact information.
Complete the Add TLD Information section where required for specific domain extensions.
Click Save to create the contact.
Step 2: Assign the New Contact to Your Domain
In your Domain Contacts list, locate the contact profile you just created.
Click Actions beside the contact.
Select Assign to Domains from the drop-down menu.
Find and select the domain you want to update (use the search bar if the domain is not listed).
Apply the new contact as the Technical Contact.
(Optional) You can also choose to assign the contact to other domain contact roles, such as Administrative, Registrant, or Billing, if needed.
Save your changes to complete the assignment.
When to Contact Live Support
If you experience any issues while creating or assigning a new technical contact profile, direct support assistance will be required.
